bwh Web Designs was born on April 1st, 2005. No fooling! The day before, Barbara McNeely worked her last day in corporate America. Well, in truth, since it was her last day, she didn't do a lot of work. Just read email one last time, sent her last status report, turned in her laptop, cancelled the forwarding of her work phone to her home number, attended her going away lunch, and then left early. It was called an "early retirement" even though she's been working harder since that day.

With 20 years of working with computer systems and more years than that working with customers, Barbara set out to design high-quality, standards-compliant, reasonably-priced web sites for small businesses. After all, a web site is an essential tool for a 21st Century business. And if you read the testimonials, you'll see that the customer really does come first.

The basis for a quality web site is current web standards. And standards are a high priority at bwh Web Designs. A site must not only look good, but it should conform to standards. If standards are followed, a web site is much more likely to look good across most platforms and browsers.

Consistency is important with bwh Web Designs too. Your pages don't have to look identical, but they should all readily appear to be related. Logos should be present on every page. The menu should be the same across all pages. You don't want a guest to get to a page and not be able to navigate to other pages they were just on.

Testing is critical to a high-quality web site. It's amazing how few people understand what is involved in testing a web site. You have to visit every page, follow every path, check every link and push every button. And you have to check for grammar and spelling errors.
